Tree Trimming Contract
The tree trimming contract with West
Coast Arborists is underway. They’re a little behind due to storm clean up.
They’re taking inventory and mapping trees for our data base. They’re
doing a good job and have multiple crews out to finish up. Also, the after-hours
emergency storm response only took 40 minutes from the initial call, to the
crew being on site. We’re very pleased with their work and response overall.
Lake
Well Pump
The Lake well pump failed and
we’ve had to replace it, the 300 ft. drive shaft, pipe casing and bearings
through an emergency purchase order. The motor is fine and some pipe casing
doesn’t need to be replaced. The new pump should be in place by approximately
August 16th, 2018.
HR Fill Actions
We have hired a new Finance Director.
Mr. Lars Johnson will start work with the City of LP on Monday, August 13th,
2018.
The Assistant City Manager
announcement closed. We had nearly 160 applicants of which 120 filled out the
application process correctly. We are now reviewing application packages in
order to narrow down the candidates to begin the interview process.
Peninsula Flood Water Issue
Additional changes were made to
the design plan. We’ve met with both the Peninsula HOA and the Wigwam Golf
Course. The Wigwam took back the plan request for discussion. We have buy in
from the HOA and are waiting to hear back from the Wigwam.
Recreation Center Fitness Equipment
The Recreation Center has
received their dumbbells and storage rack. We’re awaiting the arrival of the
new multi-station machine. The projection is we should have that delivered and
set up by the end of August.
Pre-School Flooring
The new Pre-School floor has been
installed and we’ve moved the furniture and supporting equipment back into
place. They’re ready for the first day of School which is Monday, August 27th,
2018.
